The tour will begin in Port Louis, the busy capital of Mauritius Island. It’s the commercial and economic hub of the country and you will find, especially in the beautiful Waterfront, modern and luxurious buildings. A lot of facilities like Mauritian, Indian and European restaurants, as well as shops of prestigious brands will offer to you. Actually, the Waterfront is the place to be if you search good moments to spend with you family or romantic. At the same time, you will also discover the Citadelle, which is a heritage of the cultural past of Mauritius. British built this enormous monument of black stone in 1835 to protect of military invasion. Besides, it’s also a breath-taking point of view on Port Louis city and surroundings.
Then, the tour continue with the Sir Seewoosagur Botanic Garden, which is one of the most famous attraction of the island. It bears the name of ex Mauritian Prime Minister and Governor General, Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam, who is the architect of Independence of the island from the British in 1968. In this place of 37 hectares, you will soak up in a mysterious unvierse whose the different species of plants, trees and flowers are surprising. The botanic Garden also includs the white and pink lotus, water lily and the famous baobabs.
To finish the day, this travel will bring you to the Sugar Museum called L’aventure du Sucre, the best place to enjoy an extraordinary experience. The Sugar Museum is an old factory with old machines, which reproduces the process of sugar manufacture, from sugarcane to juice. Here, you will discover the history and the identity of Mauritius, closely tied with the agriculture and the farming of sugar.
